“The Symbol -Mitsubishi A6M Zero Model 21 & Model 52-”作品は、撃墜王として著名な坂井三郎氏が操縦する零戦21型と、百田尚樹氏のベストセラー作品『永遠の0』に登場する主人公宮部久蔵が操縦する零戦52型が編隊飛行する光景を描いたものです。実際に零戦を駆って戦った人物と、後世に創作（もちろん厳密な取材に基づき作り上げられた）された象徴的な人物との共演を描く事で、日本人が戦闘機の「象徴として抱く零戦像」を表現しました。

By depicting a collaboration between a man who actually flew the Zero fighter and a symbolic figure created by later generations (based on rigorous research, of course), I have expressed the "Zero fighter image that Japanese people hold as a symbol" of the fighter plane.
