“Like a Spear Through the Waves -Light Cruiser Tatsuta 2604-”

　作品は、昭和19年に第十一水雷戦隊の旗艦として、駆逐艦を率い作戦行動中の「龍田」をイメージして描いたものです。制作に先立ち、戦時中の「龍田」の写真を探しましたが、鮮明なものが1枚もなく、研究者のまとめた情報を基に、多くを推測しながらの作業となりました。マストに翻る信号旗は「ＪＬＥＡ」で、「龍田」の艦名符字です。

The work depicts the Tatsuta as the flagship of the Eleventh Destroyer Squadron in 1944, leading destroyers in operational action. Prior to drawing, I searched for her photographs during the war, but none were clear, so I had to do a lot of guesswork based on information compiled by researchers. Fluttering on the mast are the signal flags “JLEA” her call sign.
