“Angel Shark -Submarine JS Oyashio-”

　「おやしお」（JS Oyashio, SS-590）は、おやしお型潜水艦の1番艦。帝国海軍の陽炎型駆逐艦「親潮」、海上自衛隊初の国産潜水艦「おやしお」（SS-511）に続き、3代目です。
　作品は、敵艦に対し有線誘導の魚雷攻撃を行う「おやしお」を描いたもの。魚雷を自走させて放つシーンを再現するにあたり、「あらしお」艦長を務められた方にアドバイスを頂きました。魚雷後部から延びる誘導ワイヤーの根元に装備されたパイプにご注目下さい。これは、魚雷発射管から繰り出されるワイヤーが発射管の開口部に擦れて切断されるのを防ぐために用いられる装置です。「Angel Shark」は、同艦のニックネームです。



JS Oyashio (SS-590) is the first of the Oyashio class submarines. She is the third generation following the Imperial Japanese Navy's Oyashio, a Kagero class destroyer, and Oyashio (SS-511), the first domestic submarine of the Maritime Self-Defense Force.
This work depicts the Oyashio performing a wire-guided torpedo attack against an enemy ship. The former captain of the Arashio gave me advice on how to express the scene where the torpedo is self-propelled and released. Please note the pipe equipped at the base of the guidance wire extending from the rear of the torpedo. This is a device used to prevent the wire from being cut by rubbing against the opening of the torpedo tube as it is ejected from the torpedo tube. Angel Shark" is the nickname of the ship.
